The Christian Academy for the Performing Arts (CAPA) was established in 1992 for Christians who want to show their appreciation, faith and God's Word through dance.
CAPA is a ministry that uses the Word of God as our foundation for spiritual edification, praise and worship through the performing arts. CAPA’s objective is to express and introduce the Love of God, the ministry of Jesus Christ and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit. In all that CAPA represents and presents, our goal is not to accept glory for ourselves, but to glorify God in our bodies by allowing Him to use us as instruments to dance in a ministry of Excellence.
Dancers at CAPA have continued their love of dance by participating in various projects that include the A Woman’s Worth Sisterhood Productions for Maryland University, College Park, Teen Performance Ensemble of Prince George’s County, World Figure Skating Championships and the Kennedy Center’s Dance Theatre of Harlem Community Residency program.
